Artist Statement

On Remembrance

Every face carries a quiet story, waiting to be remembered. To me, a portrait is not merely a reflection; it is a living thread woven through time, connecting past and present with gentle reverence. When voices soften into memory and photographs lose their clarity, a painted portrait continues to breathe, holding within it the warmth of a life once lived. It whispers of where we began, of the hands that shaped us, and of the love that still lingers, unseen but deeply felt. My hope is that each piece becomes a cherished heirloom, a tender vessel for memory that endures across generations.

I paint with the belief that those who came before us should never fade into unfamiliarity. Their presence, their quiet strength, and the poetry of their everyday lives deserve to be held close. In each portrait, I seek not only to capture a likeness, but to preserve a soul's gentle imprint, the essence that continues to echo within us. Through timeless, heartfelt work, I strive to honor the beauty of remembrance and the enduring bond between who we are and those who came before.
