About Jeanna

A painter of the people we came from

Jeanna Zitting is a fine-art portrait painter working primarily in oil on linen. She came to portraiture through a simple, tender conviction: that the faces of those who came before us deserve to be seen, remembered, and kept.

Her work draws on the quiet traditions of classical portraiture, warm light, patient layering, an attention to the small truths of a face. Each painting begins in listening: to a family's stories, to an old photograph, to the particular way a life was lived.
